Description
This course builds on the Core Concepts course and provides additional resources and study material to prepare for the LEED Green Associate Exam.
The online training provides a study method including group exercises, test questions and online sessions in addition to video sessions in order to make sure you are ready for the exam.

Learning objectives
- Identify key strategies to comply with the LEED requirements
- Understand the key vocabulary used in LEED and sustainable construction in general
- Recognize the different referenced standards used by LEED
- Prepare for the LEED Green Associate examination.

Required time commitment
In total the students will have to take into account that they will need to dedicate 60 hours to this course. This includes watching the videos, participating in the online sessions, participating in the group assignment, reviewing the additional resources, take practice exams and self-study. Since the course lasts 5 weeks, they will need to invest /- 12 hours per week.

Target Audience
This course is addressed to professionals who would like to get the first USGBC official exam, the LEED Green Associate. For professionals who want to demonstrate green building expertise in non-technical fields of practice, considering that this credential denotes basic knowledge of green design, construction and operations. The professionals involved can be architects, engineers, industrial designers, green architect and sustainable designers, constructors, promoters, marketing managers, amongst others.
Becoming a Green Associate is a required first step towards earning the LEED AP credential.    

Teacher´s Bio:
Emmanuel Pauwels has been working as a LEED Consultant for the last 5 years on a variety of projects in different European countries. He has also been giving online and live courses on the LEED rating system both in the Spanish and the English language. Over the last 4 years over 700 students participated in his courses helping many of them to become a Green Associate and LEED Accredited Professional.

He is currently a teacher in the University of Barcelona, where he is responsible for the LEED related courses, which are part of a post graduate program. Emmanuel is using a social collaboration platform for his online courses allowing him to make the courses a unique and interactive online experience.
