Description
This course provides a technical review of the LEED V4 Building Design and Construction Rating system. The course discusses the credit requirements and the steps needed to implement and document the different credits. This course allows you to gain an in depth understanding of the LEED BD+C rating system and prepares you for the theoretical part of the LEED AP BD+C exam.

Modules
The course consists of a series of videos with a PDF copy describing, for each of the prerequisites and credits, the following:

Duration - 12 weeks

Features

This course is organized in parallel and offered in combination with the LEED Project Experience Course. The combination of both courses will allow students to put the theory into practice making it easier to comprehend the technical LEED requirements.

Required time commitment
In total the students will have to take into account that they will need to dedicate 36 hours to this course. This includes watching the videos, taking practice tests and self-study. Since the course lasts 12 weeks, they will need to invest /- 3 hours per week. This course however is offered in combination with the Project Experience course.

Learning objectives

- Understand the technical requirements of the LEED Green Building Rating System for Building Design & Construction V4.
- Describe the steps required to implement the Prerequisites and credits of the LEED BD+C V4 rating system.
- Understand what the documentation requirements are of the different prerequisites and credits
- Prepare for the theoretical part of the LEED AP BD+C exam.

Recommended prior knowledge
To qualify for the LEED AP exams, participants are required to have passed the LEED GA exam and obtain experience in a LEED project.

Target Audience
This course is intended for building owners, architects, contractors, designers, and all other professions involved in implementing LEED for New Construction projects or pursuing GBCI's LEED AP Building Design & Construction exam.

Teacher´s Bio:
Emmanuel Pauwels has been working as a LEED Consultant for the last 5 years on a variety of projects in different European countries. He has also been giving online and live courses on the LEED rating system both in the Spanish and the English language. Over the last 4 years over 700 students participated in his courses helping many of them to become a Green Associate and LEED Accredited Professional.

He is currently a teacher in the University of Barcelona, where he is responsible for the LEED related courses, which are part of a post graduate program. Emmanuel is using a social collaboration platform for his online courses allowing him to make the courses a unique and interactive online experience.
