Dr. Beu hold a doctorate degree in Building Engineering from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, earned his Ph.D. in "daylight offices" and won research grants from the University of Liverpool, CSTB Grenoble, University of Barcelona and Helsinki University of Technology, where he worked on European research projects concerning daylighting, lighting pipes and glazing systems. Mr. Beu is the President of the Romanian Lighting National Committee (www.cnri.ro), co-chairman of the Lumen Congress  (www.lightingsibiu.eu) and was chairman of the Romanian Lighting Convention, Bucharest, 2011. He participated in numerous European programs energy efficiency, the most recent being "European Efficient Residential Lighting Initiative" (ENRLIN). Mr. Beu was the lighting and electrical coordinator for 36 building projects, including Worldbank - Bucharest, Casa Radio - Bucharest, Polus Mall - Cluj-Napoca, The Cluj-Napoca Philharmonic and Sigma Towers - Cluj-Napoca. Mr Beu is editor for the Romanian "Lighting Engineering" and author of "Technical lighting in industrial office buildings", published by Mediamira, Cluj-Napoca, 2011. He is co-author of numerous books, including "Design guide for low-voltage electrical installations" (UTC-N, 1995), "Management of lighting installations" (Mediamira, 1998), and, together with Dr. Liisa Halonen, he published the second volume of interior lighting guide (Mediamira, 2000). Recent activities include the management of the Romanian Green Building Council, Transylvania Chapter.
