  • A roundtable discussion on what is in place and what can be done

The RoGBC organized a round-table discussion with the RoGBC members and other stakeholders (representatives form banks, public institutions and academia will be invited) to discuss about existing financial structures / incentives for green buildings in Romania and initiate a constructive debate about new mechanisms and structures that could be considered.

The topics included:

1. Overview on upcoming EU legislation that encourages Members States to consider financial structures;

2. Overview on existing public programs in Romania that address the sustainability aspect in buildings (Thermal Rehabilitation, Casa Verde, Bank loans guaranteed by the state, Structural funds, Local measures);

3. Private market mechanisms - green mortgages (other countries example and proposed model for Romania);

4. Debate on the above topics with the participants.

The debate will be facilitated to encourage input and comments from all participants.

We are encouraging all the RoGBC members that were involved in any of the public programs or are familiar with the private market mechanism to participate and provide feedback.

The results of the meeting will be published for our community, presented to relevant government representatives and the members' feedback will be included in the Europe GBC Network Report on Green Financial Structures.
