Location : Athénée Palace Hilton, Bucharest
From: Thursday 11 October 2018, 00:00
To: Thursday 11 October 2018, 00:00

Initiated by the European Commission in partnership with the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration, the Ministry of European Funds in Romania, the National Regulatory Authority for Energy and the United Nations Environment Program - Financial Initiative,

The National Round Table is being held in the context of the regional conference on energy efficiency financing in Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria held in Bucharest on February 1st, 2018. This conference brought together 182 participants with attributions in the financing of energy efficiency in the financial sector, national governments, project developers, the energy renovation supply chain, local and regional energy agencies. Presentations from that event can be found here and can be used in preparation for the National Round Table.

The objective of the National Round Table is to initiate a dialogue between stakeholders in Romania on how to improve access to finance for energy efficiency investments and identify common objectives and possible improvements to be made in the current business policy framework and practice. The Round Table will devote a significant period of exchange of views and interaction between participants in restricted working groups.

The round table will bring together a selected number of participants (access to the event is only allowed on invitation basis) and will aim to facilitate a debate among the major stakeholders in Romania on the following themes:

- Energy renovation of residential buildings, in particular through the creation of integrated housing renovation services

- Reducing the risk generated by energy efficiency projects for the financial sector

- Increase the energy renovation rate of public buildings, in particular through energy performance contracts and project aggregation

- Increasing investment in energy efficiency in the SME sector
