This course is a required course for those seeking the “RoGBC Green Building Professional” certification.

A full day course to educate professionals on the importance of selecting a proper site for the purposes of constructing and operating green buildings. Investors need to have a clear understanding of the requirements of green buildings before they make their land purchases. While increasingly desired by investors, the internationally recognized green building rating tools (such as LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, etc.) favor those who are developing building sites with regard to the biodiversity value and other ecological impacts, public transit availability and other sustainable siteing and management considerations.

Objectives of the course:
1. Gain an understanding of the opportunities and challenges of brownfield development including remediation;
2. Learn about assessing biodiversity value and innovative programs to minimize cost while maximizing ecological benefit and land value;
3. Understand legal requirements;
4. Find out about the relation of site selection and management to international green building certifications.

Martin Dreiseitel - President & CEO of F&R Worldwide

Mr. Dreiseitel works with developers, community leaders, financial institutions and industry on sustainable site selection and site development in Europe. Mr. Dreiseitel is actively involved both with the Romania, Croatia and Estonia Green Building Council and an initiative launched by the US embassy in Romania to develop a national Brownfield strategy.

Mr. Dreiseitel holds a MSc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Applied Life Sciences in Vienna and has over 18 years of experience most of which has been devoted to Brownfields, remediation and risk management in several European countries.

Mr. Dreiseitel also is a Coach and certified Trainer according to ISO/IEC 17024.
