Founded in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, in 1891 as Philips by Gerard Philips and his father Frederik, to manufacture incandescent lamps and other electrical products, the company has led the lighting industry for more than 130 years.

In 2016, we spun off from Philips, becoming a separate company - Philips Lighting - listed on Amsterdam’s Euronext Stock Exchange and in March 2018 we announced our new company name: Signify (Euronext: LIGHT). While the company name has changed, all the things that you have come to trust in us - our commitment, service, and quality - will stay the same.
