About

Governments, municipalities, manufacturers, bankers, sellers, and end consumers are increasingly aware of the benefits of green technologies and are taking concrete steps to adopt them. The timely availability of financing instruments that enable the adoption of green technologies is an important component of the ecological transition. International financial institutions were early adopters of green finance, and now the rest of the banking and financial services industry is following suit. The upcoming EU taxonomy regulation, a detailed EU classification system for sustainable activities, will create a common language for all actors in the financial system. The taxonomy presents an excellent opportunity to bring stakeholders together to discuss green technologies and their financing.

Key questions include:

  • What are green technologies?
  • How is this sector evolving in Romania?
  • What are customers' interests in green products and equipment?
  • What are the success stories and challenges in adopting them?

Together, we will look ahead and explore options and solutions for advancing green technologies. Experienced voices from the policymaking, financial, industrial, and commercial sectors will join the EBRD in discussing green technologies and their financing, building an understanding of where we are now and how we will continue to support sustainability. The EBRD will present its Green Technology Selector, an online shopping platform that allows users to access a global directory of green technologies. Participants are encouraged to download the Tech Selector app on their smartphones before attending this event.
