This course focuses on best practices for successfully managing green building projects. The course covers, among other topics, the key principles of sustainable construction, including "Integrated Design" and achieving optimal performance outcomes from project partners.
Course Objectives:
- Define the management of an integrated project
- Identify the objectives, intentions, and requirements of a sustainable construction project
- Identify the pros and cons of an integrated approach to increase cost efficiency
- Evaluate the tools and strategies necessary to successfully deliver high-performance construction projects
- Implement best business practices for managing a sustainable building
- Plan based on key considerations in the project management process
- Increase project profitability through streamlined management practices
Program:
- Introduction
- What are green buildings? (Definition, LEED/WELL certifications, Nzeb, etc.)
- Green project development strategies: Strategy, Design, Execution, Operation, Improvement, etc.
- Principles for sustainable construction: circular economy, design for social impact, etc.
- Achieving optimal results from project partners: designers, builders, maintenance companies, clients/users, etc.

Andrei Ivan, Projects Director at Skanska's Commercial Development Business Unit in CEE
Andrei Ivan is an experienced professional in commercial development and sustainability who joined the Skanska Romania team in 2015 as a project leader. With over 14 years in the industry, Andrei has held various positions related to the management of sustainable commercial projects. Since March 2021, Andrei has been promoted to Projects Director, leading project management activities for Equilibrium and future Skanska projects in Romania.
In the last 2 years, he has successfully contributed to promoting sustainability at Skanska and further contributed to the company's mission to build for a better society. He truly believes that his role in the industry is crucial for the development of green cities and a sustainable future. Whether supporting the development of Skanska Group's sustainability strategy, contributing to the revision of health and safety standards, or promoting innovations and digital solutions, Andrei focuses on sustainable solutions, adding value to projects and clients.
The past few years at Skanska have given him a global perspective, being involved in various projects with a positive impact on communities. Andrei believes that achieving any objectives is possible as a team effort, which is why he values the expertise that each colleague brings to ongoing projects.
