A half a day course to advise and prepare the participants on in force and impending European and National legislation and emerging international building rating / certification tools that is dramatically changing how buildings are designed, constructed, operated and deconstructed. Among other legal topics, the course covers European legislation including the upgraded Energy Performance for Buildings Directive and Construction Waste Directive as well as national legislation changes. In addition, participants will learn about the internationally recognized building rating tools that are increasingly demanded by investors, developers and building owners in the domestic, regional, and international markets.

If you register but do not attend or cancel your registration 4 days prior to the event, you will have to pay for your catering expenses.

Luiza Manolea

degree in European Studies, Official Lawyer at the Luiza Manolea Law Office

Mrs. Manolea is a graduate of the Law School/ University of Bucharest/ Romania and holds a Masters degree in European Studies of the Franco-Romanian Juridical College Paris/ France. She is practicing law as  an independent attorney-at-law in Bucharest, being specialized in sustainable construction law, renewable energy legislation, public procurement law and business law.

Elena Rastei

BA, LEED AP - Lecturer at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Founder & Freelance Sustainability Consultant for EcoVision SRL

Mrs. Rastei holds a Bachelor in History and Philology from the University Alba Iulia, received a certificate in executive coaching ‘Critical Skills for Strategic and Effective Coaching’ from the ‘Summer Institute in Coaching’ as part of Northwestern University, Illinois and is currently conducting her Master studies at the Department of ‘Sustainability and Environmental Management’ at University of Harvard.

Mrs. Rastei lectures in ‘Urban Ecology and Sustainability’ at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and is a freelance sustainability consultant for EcoVision SRL providing sustainability consulting services to real estate developers, architects, engineers and other stakeholders in the construction industry.

Mrs. Rastei has obtained the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Green Associate status, she is a member of the International Sustainable Development Research Society and has extensively researched other international rating tools for her book “Low-Carbon Strategy of Eco-Renovation Applied to the Household Sector”, Cartea Cartii de Stiitia Cluj-Napoca, 2011.

As a human rights and environmental activist, Mrs. Rastei is deeply involved in the non-governmental sector through numerous initiatives at national and international level including ‘Let’s do it Romania’ and ‘Saving Green Initiative’. Ecovision SRL is an active member of the Romanian Green Building Council and a founding member of the RoGBC’s Transylvania Chapter.
