A 6 hours course to educate professionals on the importance of selecting a proper site for the purposes of constructing and operating green buildings.

It is key to have a clear understanding of the implications of sustainable site selection and site management before starting project development or even before making land purchases. Internationally recognized green building rating tools favor those who are selecting and developing building sites with focus on biodiversity value, environmental impacts, public transit availability and other sustainable site management considerations.

1. Gain an understanding of the opportunities and challenges of sustainable site selection & site management

2. Learn about assessing biodiversity value and innovative programs to minimize cost while maximizing ecological benefit and land value

3. Find out about the relation of site selection and management to international green building certifications based on international case studies.

Investors need to have a clear understanding of the requirements of green buildings before they make their land purchases. While increasingly desired by investors, the internationally recognized green building rating tools (such as LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, etc.) penalize those who are developing building sites without regard to the biodiversity value and other ecological impacts, public transit availability, and other sustainable siteing and management considerations.

Trainer: Martin Dreiseitel, President & CEO of F&R Worldwide

Martin works with developers, community leaders, financial institutions and industry on sustainable site selection and site development. He is actively involved with the Romania, Croatian, Estonian and Montenegrin Green Building Council and an initiative launched by the US embassy in Romania to develop a national Brownfield strategy.

He holds an engineering degree (Dipl.-Ing.) from the University of Applied Life Sciences in Vienna and has over 20 years of experience, most of which have been devoted to remediation and sustainable development of brownfields sites and managing related risks.

Since 2012 Martin Dreiseitel is delivering trainings on sustainable urban planning, site selection and site management. He is a Coach and Trainer certified according to ISO/IEC 17024.
