This course is a required course for those seeking the "Green Building Professional" certification.

Trainer Profile:

Eric Johnson  LEED AP BD+C & ID+C, BREEAM AP, Living Future Accredited, Living Building Challenge Ambassador

Mr. Johnson specializes in the planning, cost management, and delivery of green commercial development projects.  He started his own consultancy business in 2013 after working for major international firms providing construction, sustainability, and project/cost management services.  As a consultant, he has managed the green building certification process for over 1,000,000 m2 of projects and certified some of the earliest and highest scoring buildings in Central and Eastern Europe.

Some sustainable project highlights include leading the certification process for:

  • The sixth highest scoring LEED 2009 Core and Shell project in the world. LEED Platinum – 86 points
  • The tenth highest scoring LEED 2009 New Construction certified hotel project in the world. - LEED Gold – 64 points
  • The largest existing office building in the Czech Republic. LEED Gold – 72 points
  • The first precertified project in Slovakia. LEED Silver – 33 points
  • The first precertified project in Libya. LEED Gold – 68 points

He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, a LEED Accredited Professional with the BD+C, O+M, and ID+C credentials, a BREEAM Accredited Professional, Living Future Accredited, and a Living Building Challenge Ambassador.  He helped to found the Czech Green Building Council (CZGBC) where he later served as Secretary on the CZGBC Board of Directors.  He serves on, or leads, several international expert committees working to increase green building education and rating tool ease of use.  He co-authored the Czech Green Building Council June, 2013 report “Green Building Costs, Savings, and Value” and led the work of the associated task group.  Eric earned a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Construction and Development from Sheffield-Hallam & Nottingham Trent Universities.
