Elena Rastei

Environmental activist and sustainability specialist with over 7 years of experience in sustainability and green building certification schemes such as LEED and BREEAM at both national and international level. Elena is the technical coordinator for the GREEN HOMES certification launched by RoGBC in 2014, which certified or is in the process of certifying over 4,500 homes.
She is the author of several articles and guides on the topic of "green building", sustainable waste management and clean energy; she lectured for two years in “Urban Sustainability” post-graduate program at the Technical University of Cluj Napoca. She organized and lectured at a number of events on topics such as circular economy, biowaste, energy, urban mining and biomimetics. She is a member in the board of directors for Zero Waste Europe and she worked as an advisor to the Ministry of Environment and to various municipalities across the country on circular economy methodology.
Elena's studies include Master’s programs in sustainability and environmental protection and in environmental engineering and architecture. She is passionate about downshifting and sharing economy.
